About Rosa               Contact: rosakatzenelson@gmail.com

“In our fragmented reality the abstract emerges from the figure or the form developed from the unknown. My characters remind us of who we are. They reflect the two worlds to which we belong, the spiritual and the material. They are not intended to be a copy of reality;  they are an interpretation of our ambiguity.

In my oil paintings I enjoy building compositions, playing with the idea of a “picture within a picture”. My digital mix media with distorted focus are like expressionist paintings. In either media, the thick oil impasto or blurry shapes of people, create an awareness of the elusive and always changing shapes between figuration and abstraction,  gaze and view.” Rosa Katzenelson n
